Figma returns the AI design generation feature

Figma returns the AI design generation feature. The feature now has a different name - First Draft instead of Make Designs.

The company introduced the tool in June 2024. Figma had to shut it down in July, as one of the users noticed that it reproduced the design of Apple's Weather app. Figma said it did not train the AI on existing apps.

The updated feature is available in a limited beta version. Figma noted that First Draft is the “old” new name, which is what the tool was going to be called originally.
